Srinagar, July 25 (GNS): Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta on Monday said that merit is the sole criterion for selection in the government services and no wrongdoing would be tolerated.

“You should be rest assured that merit will be the only basis for selection. We won’t accept even one wrongdoing in the selection process,” the top civil officer said at the launch of the Digital J&K, according to GNS correspondent.

“Even minutest of the wrongdoings will not be accepted. The jobs won’t be available in market but recruitments will only be based on merit. If any wrongdoing is found, case will go to CBI and those responsible will be given exemplary punishment which they (culprits) will remember for ages,” he said.
